Car doesnt start...
i have a swap in my hatch, and for the past few weeks my car wont start. i changed the spark plugs and got a new battery, reset the ecu, did a valve adjustment, and it still wont start. the only way i can get it going is if i bump start it. does anyone have any suggestions on what my problem may be?

Sounds like the starter motor is you can push start it and it works fine. Does the car turn over at all without push starting?

not at all, i have an auto timer on it, and whenever i turn over the key the auto timer will go off. it seems like its stalling out before it even starts or something.

Well based on this info we've eliminated the fuel and ignition systems so it has to be in the starting system. By auto timer are you referring to a turbo timer? Make sure all of your connections are good at the starter. Well even if it is a turbo timer I don't think that would be the culprit since it keeps the engine running after shut down.

Re: (graveltravel)
i dont know, someone just suggested the idea, well i think we did that because the car would act like its about to stall out, when its in neutral.

Re: (graveltravel)
Hmm lets see here..
I was pretty sure they weren't but I had to confirm, the example used is a 1993 2dr EX civic, just as an example.
Same style of starter Mitsu(4)
Auto part number 06314-P30-305RM
Manual part number 06314-P03-306RM
The drive gear between the auto and manual is the same but the mounting plate will be different, good call on bringing that up because we wouldn't want him to push his car over to our houses later to kick our *** for misinfo. Just playin..
