so my girlfriend has a 96 civic with a d16 if she is in stop and go traffic the car will die constantly or if she puts it in neutral for to long it will die also but starts right back up this does not happen all the time tho was told it was the main relay but dont know if that is really the problem. need help let me know what you think thanks.

how does it die, just no matter what it dies, or it idles and she doesn't give it gas and it stumbles and dies?

yea wont catch back up to a normal idle rhythm and dies

sometimes it will catch itself and idle right but most of the time it dies

i have already put new plugs wires and new o2 on there still does it.....?

i dony really think it could be that because it exelerates just fine its very random when it does it. stop and go mostly but sometime just when she puts it in neutral

idle air control valve, check that out. sounds like the problem i used to have when mine went.

well fixed it today it was the main relay thanks for all your help.
