Car cuts off without warning while driving
Need help. Car cuts off while driving and/or coming to a stop without warning it’s like the car thinks I’m turning the key off so maybe the switch is the problem? It’s a 1995 civic with an ls swap. Can’t seem to figure out the problem. It doesn’t have any check engine lights.

Re: Car cuts off without warning while driving
changed the main relay, same problem. Even got a whole new distributor and still same problem . The ignition switch is next in list.

You have described symptoms that are typical of an ignition switch/pigtail failure.

Re: Car cuts off without warning while driving
When it stalls out, don't touch the key until you check if the battery and oil warning lights come on. Normally they will come on whenever the key is on but the engine is not turning. If they are out but come back on when you jiggle the key, it's a bad ignition switch.
A lot more cost-effective to test first before replacing. |
