Hi i got a honda civic eg 1992 1.3L carborated engine... i was wondering if its just my car... or was it my engine... well my concern is my second gear is like first gear where by i hv to slowly ease the clutch off to stop the car from chugging unlike 3rd and 4th and 5th where u just need to press it in and out just to disengage gear. I'm not sure if i explain it clearly but please just ask what else you would like to know. i have driven other cars that have bigger engines that don't need to do what i do with my car. i'm mechanically challenged btw

What RPM's are you shifting at? Don't forget it's a very small motor so you'll have to shift higher RPM's to prevent "lugging" the engine.

I'd shift at like 4-5k w/ that car - though that's just me, some people say I wind mine out too much - but regardless. I don't think u can pull a 2k shift w/ that car or it'll do pretty much exactly what ur doing. Though I could be wrong O.o.

Try shifting it higher, see what happens.

oic!! thats wt i was finkin aswell but wen i rev higher its realli loud so i was finkin i should easy off on the accelrator... ok i'll try that 2morrow its currently 12 at night in perth

Ps i have noticed that i can go up to like 60km/h rather than 40/50kms in other cars i driven b4 i change to 3rd gear which proves i need high revs...
