Car break in prevention? (2000 civic ex)
Ok, so someone wedged a wire or something around the rubber above the drivers side window and managed to unlock the doors using the power lock switch. He only took the tools out of the trunk and messed up the small plastic window guide (thankfully not the whole car).
Has anyone tried covering the power unlock switch and made it look clean / neat? Seems like a simple way to prevent this type of break in.
I am looking into a fuel kill switch and an alarm, just dont have time for all that right now.

Well even if you had a cover for the unlock switch a thief can stick his whole arm in the window and get around it. Only real way that I can personally think of is to completly disconnect the unlock switch.

if his whole arm is in the window... a disconnected switch aint going to do anything... one inch left of the switch is the lock/unlock latch.

Whole arm in the window... what?
Disconnecting the switch may not be a bad idea... but still... if someone sees that it is covered, the little bastered may think twice... or just break the window. Who knows.

Just remove the switch / disconnect the bars in the door.
The thieves probably did not touch your actual lock switches inside the car though. They probably hooked the bar inside the door with a coat hanger. Just like how people break into their own cars. That's what the Jimmi Jammer protects against.

Re: (NOFX)
possibly, but the damage to the weather seal at the top of the glass points to them poking somthing down and grabbing the switch inside of the car, next to the inside door handle.
I thank you for the link and the advise.
