ok my lil bro's got a 93 EG with a 1.6L non-V sohc motor and we are having some problems with it. when we give it gas the motor bogs and sputters. Then the tach. flips out. I have no Idea what this could be. We have checked a couple grounds..nothing, its shouldn't be the distributor cuz thats all new. I have no idea where to look and need some help...and here is some pics cuz i know how u all like them...

Re: (ltgrazer65)
where'd you get the distributor? i had an autozone one that was REALLY fucked up one time. the rpm signal comes from the dizzy so that's why it's my guess. if it's arching like the one guy said, that would cause the misfire or "sputter" that you feel too.

bogging under heavy load sounds like dirty fuel filter but that wouldnt explain the tach. check the dizzy like everyone said and i would go ahead and replace the fuel filter if it hasnt been done to your knowledge just as good maintenance.

My eg used to do something like that while driving if I give it alot of gas it would like bog out and sputter, couldnt find the problem, dizzy was good, then checked the spark plugs and wires, and they were all messed up like no one has ever changed them since the car left the factory. Changed that and the problem resolved...
