cap and rotor
i just got done figuring out that the rotor that i bought for my b-series doesnt work, but after i put on the new one, and it was a tight fit, i tried starting it and it just kept trying to turn over but didnt, also to get on the rotor i forced it on and hit it gently a couple of times, then i went back and put the old one back on and it was the same thing...................what the hell is going on, it was running fine before and now its not starting

i rmemebr i did my cap and rotor and the rotor should just slip on and off. you shouldnt have to force it, there is a screw that holds it in place. but like i said, it should fit on like a perfect glove, no forcing required. maybe they gave u the wrong size

Re: cap and rotor ([G][A][M][E])
yeah, im pretty sure that it was the wrong one so i put on the stock one again, but it wont start, it sounded like it wanted to but just wouldnt turn over, i checked the firing sequence and everything, could it be the starter screwin up since i had to bump it until i was able to see the screw, now my car sounds like the battery is dying or maybe the starter?????????????????????

Did you check for spark? Maybe it's the cap thats messed up. Or maybe you knocked something loose when you forced the rotor onto the shaft. On mine, I didnt have to force it on.. I just wiggled and it went in fine. Does the distributor shaft have rust?

Re: cap and rotor (PowderB16)
You bought a rotor and it didn't fit right...you bought a cap and it doesn't fit either...
Are you sure you're asking for parts for the right motor??? Sorry I had to ask. Either that or find a more competent auto parts store that doesn't give you the wrong stuff.
One thing too, did you remove all the plug wires from the cap when you took it off? If so, you might have put them back on in the wrong order.

Re: cap and rotor (klungemonger)
they are all on right, i knew the cap wasnt right and i took the old rotor and put it back on but it sounds like it is dying, after trying to start it the first time it sounded close, then on the second time it sounded like it was slower and was really really trying, by the second time i heard something clicking in the interior so i checked all the fuses, everything is fine, could it be the starter?????????
