can't keep car at a rpm for long...whats going on??
i turned on my car today....eg hatch with b18b motor. i let it warm up some. i tried to drive the car and when i was in first and the rpm's stayed at 3k for a little while, the car wouldn't go anymore. i could floor the gas pedal and nothing. once the rpm's hit 1100, the car would start to move again.
i slowly let the rpms get up to 2k and leaving it there for a few seconds, the same thing would happen, it would kinda shut down. the car wouldn't turn off or anything, it just wouldn't go when i gave it gas. then it would hit 1100 rpm's and it would go again.
when i was in my driveway at idle, i reved the motor up to 3k and left it there. a second or two later, the rpms would just drop down to 1100, then go back up again. then it would drop back down.
any ideas?

Re: can't keep car at a rpm for long...whats going on?? (93hb)
anybody have any idea?
i thought it just fixed itself by resetting the ecu, but i guess it didn't.
the car was driving good last night. i made a stop at a store, then when i left, i was driving normal. slowly accelerating in first gear and when the rpm's stayed at about 2-3k for about 2 seconds, the car just wouldn't go anymore. i could floor the gas pedal and the car still wouldn't go. then when the rpm's got back down to 1100, the car would jerk a little and then start moving again. same thing would happen over and over again.
i pulled over and reved the rpm's to 2.5k and then the rpms would just drop back down. as the rpms were dropping, if you floor the gas pedal, nothing would happen. then when the rpms would hit 1100, they would go back up again. it would do this over and over until i let off the gas pedal.
i was on my way driving home, very slow since what was happening. i got about a mile down the road or so and the car was fine. i slowly started accelerating and left the rpm's at 3k and nothing would happen anymore.
any suggestions on why this does this sometimes?
