Default Can't get Vtec to work properly (b16a2)

I have a 1999 b16a2, in a 93 Cx hatch, im runing it on a p61 (92-93 gsr , 1.7 ecu), ive swapped it out to no avail for a b16a ecu and no difference. The problem is when i hit vtec at 5700 rpm i have a huge noise, but no power increase. Like i said we swapped out the ECU, same ****, then we thought timing, went to honda they checked it, and its fine. Then checked for engine codes..none. engine runs beatifully, but it bogs some days, and it doesnt feel like im really getting much power all through the rpm's and when vtec hits there is no power increase, just a really loud noise. We thought ok maybe the engine is starving for fuel, so i changed the fuel filter and fuel pump (type r) and installed a fuel pressure gauge, sits around 37 at idle (normal), but once again still no power increase just that loud noise. We are thinking, ECU, O2 sensor, some **** like that. VTEC is kicking in so its not the solonoid (sP), took it to honda said vtec is working just no power. Not ready to take it there and get them to troubleshoot it out for 5 bills. If any one has any suggestions please reply to this. thanks

Get a chipped P28 and make sure you got your vtec wired up ect.

I hope you're not expecting to get thrown back into your seat becaus the magical VTEC kicks in. If so, you better wake up and smell reality.

i took it to honda to make sure they said YA NO POWER, ive driven the exact same car hatch with a b16 and there is a difference at vtec, and vtec is wired up correctly, if it wasn't, i would get an engine code and/or vtec wouldnt switch over

keep em coming though...

do you have an exhaust and intake? maybe you should bring your engagement point up a bit. Also dont expect so much from a B16. I have a B16 with i/h/e and intake manifold and i can hear my change over, but the kick isnt very hard, but I do know its workin.

you might want to check if you got the tps and map sensor switched.

I have an intake and exhaust, but im telling u i've driven the EXACT same car, and there is a tiny kick u feel when it switches over, ive taken it to a number of people who all say, there is no power, it goes i mean i can still kill an Si but im saying for a b16 its not that fast, as if im not getting the proper fuel, but i checked that and its good,

regarding the tps and map sensor's, if they were switched would i get an engine light? would the car run normally?

and as for vtec connected...yes,

someone asked me about oil pressure? o2 sensor?, what do u guys think?

To me this is how most b16's are...i think you might be expecting to much from it...just put it on the dyno and see what kind of #s your pulling.
