Can't get alternator to fit into upper bracket.
Hope somebody out there can help me. I have a 2000 civic HX with an LS/vtec swap. Its got a b16 head and of course an LS block. My question/problem is i cant get the alternator to fit into the upper alternator bracket, meaning the alternator itself seems to sit too high for the upper alternator bolt to fit through the bracket and tighten/adjust the alternator. the lower and upper brackets are stock b-series brackets and the alternator is a remanufactured b-series alternator which i understand are all the same. I installed the lower bracket with the three 10mm bolts and the upper bracket with the two 10mm bolts and still it seems that the alternator does not line up with the adjustment slot. In fact i cant even fit the bolt through the slot to get into the alternator bolt hole. Anyway, hope theres enough info and hopefully somebody else out there has ran into this problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks.
