Hello to all, first of all I would like to say I Honda Tech. I am a newborn to posting here (go easy on me) but I have been lurking around here for a while. You guys always provide great and helpful advice/info. Hey and sometimes some humor. But on to the post.

Heres my problemo... Started the car the other day, it started fine no problems. Drove to the mailbox area of my apartment, around 30 feet, then car all of sudden died.

Try to jump it, no go .Take the battery to get it checked, fine . I still dont know whats wrong. I then check all the fuses under the hood and under the steering wheel everything is ok. All electricals seem fine headlights come on, interior lights work, and stereo works. It just wont turn over, it gets all the way to the peak right before it starts, but it just wont start.

Next I check the fuel filter undo the top bolt on it (banjo bolt?) then turn the cars igntion on and to my surprise no fuel comes out. Ok so maybe its the fuel filter so I unhook the filter from the fuel line and try it that way... no fuel again. So I come to the conclusion that it must be fuel pump.

So then I run the fuel filter test on my sedan and to my surprise fuel shoots out everywhere . So I am ok lets take this fuel pump out and put it in my hatchy.
So I do this today, hook everything back up and still same result, wont start. Did the fuel filter test again on the hatch and the same thing happens no fuel .

I am stuck thats about all I know. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong any information would help, thanks .

Is there a fuel pump fuse that I cant find? Oh and I tried the search but none of the info was really helpful, so thats why I posted here.

The car wants to start but just cant turn over, please help .

Possibly your main relay. Mine started acting up, you have to turn the key all the way off then try and start it again. if it isn't gonna start then, it will most likely be that main relay 'bout ~50.00 dollar at Honda dealership

has it started since your initial problem??

isnt there a fuel pump fuse under the hood? check the fuse box under the hood on the passenger side near the battery.

I looked again and I didnt see one in the fuse box uner the hood.
Where is this main relay located on my car? Cause my sedan is down due to a tranny problem so I can use the one off it.

IT is 99,9 procent you main relay !!! you dont have 2 buy a new one !! just take it apart !! and mold the things agian on the relyas !!

are u positive u have gas? i dont mean just the needle, i mean are u sure there is definitely gas in the tank? i think it was on my last car, i couldnt figure out wat the hell was wrong with it cuz there was electricity and spark and it acted like it was gonna start up but never got to it. somehow my fuel guage was like 1/4 tank off so it looked like i had gas but there was abolutely nothing in my tank. so i had driven my car all around with no problem, and then parked it. next time i got in it refused to start. this prob isnt ur problem and i was prob just plain stupid then, but lettin u kno just in case.

under the dash, steering side ! beside fuse box !! have 7-8 wires 2 it and some what same size as a cigaret pak.. with a "big" jack with those 7-8 wires

Yeah it has gas full tank, I changed fuel pump so I know its full..lol. Thanks Zeus I will look into that tommorrow. Would it be the same relay from the DX, please let me know so I can use that one until I get around to the Honda dealership. Thanks Again guys!

ohh you have 2 civics... then i would say yes !! try it !! DX or SI !?! the same !!
but you dont need 2 buy a new one !! just fix it !!
but yes switch relays !! ill bet you it gonna start right up ;-)

yup relay i had that problem

OK replaced the main relay and still no start. What now? Could it be the fuel level sending unit? Anybody got any ideas?

Check your timing belt. Friend of mine had the same prob this past weekend. Turns out he spun some teeth off of his timing belt.

When u turn the key...do you hear the fuel pump prime?? If not, try rechecking fuses and checking for power to fuel pump..just my $.02
