drill it out. the bolt that is. or cut off the head of the bolt and pull it out.

That's not good. Those bolts screw into nuts welded to the inside of the frame. The easy part is drilling them out. The hard part is finding something to anchor into when you go to reinstall the new mount.

You'll likely need to install a through bolt.

yeah i thought there was something inside the frame that held the nut.

what is a through bolt?

any links to this kind of repair procedure?

a threw bolt is just a long @ss bolt. youll have to drill a hole all the way thru the frame rail. best to drill up from the bottom and do your best to keep it straight!

then drill the hole ontop of the rail large enough to fit the head of the bolt and nut thru it. then put a nut with a built in washer on the head of the nut onto the long bolt and thread it on so that you have an inch or two below the bottom rail going down from the top. the nut is simply a bump stop on that bottom rail where the old welded nut is suposed to be. and you want the head of the long bolt to be just above the top rail with a large washer around it just for looks really (better than seeing a large hole!) and now that the bolt is just siting ontop of the rail you can put a wrench on it to hold the bolt from turning while tightening a nut on the bottom to hold the mount inplace...

theres several ways to go about it.....
if you dont want to chop a hole in the top of the rail AND YOU HAVE A WELDER and small cut off wheel grinder! then drill off the head of the bolt from below, trace the mounts position around the area and then remove the mount and then with the cutoff wheel cut out about in inch past the traced area and remove that section... then from the back side and a new nut with the right thread size of course weld that nut to the back side, and then put that section back up to the rail and weld it all back inplace and smooth down your welds and primer over them and paint or some undercoating around the area for a smooth look.

several way to go about it just depends what you have for tools and ur welding ability.
the first way is the easiest for the moderate tool guy since all you need is a few drills.

They make a tool that you can put a nutsert into the frame. you drill out the hole and put a nut sert its like a rivet that has threads in the center so you can bolt things down. might be a idea but requires you to purchase a kit of tools and nut serts. check snap-on they have one.

Are you talking about the torque mount which holds the ac compressor. You can take the mount off from the motor and there's two bolts holding the mount on the frame. Take those off instead of removing the one nut off and the of the mount. That's the only botton mount I know off on the driver side. I do not understand about the drilling and welding comes along.

Dude, that's awesome. I've never seen those before. Have you used them anywhere? I'm wondering if they'll ever come loose with vibration and/or constant pounding by the engine.

I have used them mainly in mounting stuff to body panels in work trucks but the nut sert is also used by honda for the factory installed tow-hitch for the ridgeline so I'm pretty sure they are good with vibration. I havent had one come loose yet.
