Canadian 92 SI vs. North American Version

Does anyone know the differences between the 92 Civic SI Hatch, Canadian Version versus the North American version?

All I know is that it has daylights and the guages are in kilometers and has some canadian stickers. I have one myself.

Well as far as I know there should only be a small difference.

Depending on the elevation level and the smog restrictions the car should honestly be quicker in america. The engine would be made to try harder in Canada then it would be in (depending on where you live) and the elevation. Far as I know Canada is higher and the smog levels are a lot easier to get around. So to make a long story short the cars engine should be stronger if it was made for Canada.

i'm pretty sure that the ex here is the si in canada, and the si here is the si-r there. i think they may have a b series in the si-r, but i'm not completely sure of that.

The best thing to do is to actually look on a Honda car dealership and ask. For the simple fact that Canada is almost backwards from America, I know they don't offer the same amount of models and they really don't like speeding, that's why SiRs are hard to come by. But just ask a dealership of the official website.

SIR aren't -hard to come by- like an ITR, for example.

There were no major difference from USDM and canadian 1992 Si hatchback.

No real differences? You absolutely positively sure? I just want to know for sure cause if there are some (i.e. guage clusters) than I guess my guage cluster is not stock and, therefore, who knows what the actual mileage is.

Other than some stickers, the guage cluster being in Km's, there were no real differences like he said above. So if your car is supposedly Canadian but your cluster is in MPH I'd say it's not stock.

well if youre asking if the canadian hatch is different than the usdm then yes, the gauge clusters are different. all hatches that i have ever seen have been made in canada.

In the case of EG hatches in canada, there is no SIR, the only case where SIR exists in Canada is when it comes to EK coupes. The SI eg should be the same in ;Can as th US the only difference would be the cluster from Mph to Kph.

Trust me i live in Canada and pay close attention.

PS there was no dohc Eg ever sold in Canada, we only wish

oh and our hatches all have 3 spoke steering wheels except for the SI (maybe EX) and you guys all seem to have 4 spokes... maybe I'm wrong

Re: Canadian 92 SI vs. North American Version (Daniel_san)

I beleive in the US the EX has 4 wheel disk brakes, the canadian SI has drums on the back.
i own a canadian 93 si with drums in back.

Re: Canadian 92 SI vs. North American Version (gunnis)

If it all else fails, just go with the Si (that's if you have a choice).
