Can your downpipe from your headers go bad?

Can your downpipe from your headers go bad?
Is there anyway that the downpipe can go bad and actually mess up your primary o2 sensor? my o2 sensor for the primary on the downpipe is not working and I dont know what it is...

They go bad over time.....Your header or manifold wont cause it to just go bad. Just replace it.....its no big deal

well I dont know if its damaged or not.. its a jdm gsr manifold with a 2.50 inch collector. I am using an itr donut gasket 2.50 and theres still a lil leak.. can that cause my o2 sensor to malfunction and throw a cel 41?
