A buddy of mine is looking for a little performance I am wondering if this will work or be of a benefit to him?

i ran a p28 on my dx motor for a while, you get a little more power, but it doesnt run as smooth at the top. you will also throw a check engine light. its not really worth it, but if you do it, dont over rev it....

no use... you will run in limp mode because the motor will lack a VTEC solenoid and the ECU will look for that stuff.

no it wont. it will just throw a code 21. but that will not put it in limp mode.
your better off buying the stuff to chip your ecu for 30 beans

there are no performance benefits other than a JDM amber Check Engine light.
