Can you help me w/ this?
I am looking to purchase a B16B motor, but there are a few things that confuse me. Here they are, one is that it is a complete B16B swap, but on the block where the engine code is there is no serial #. Now before any conclusions are drawn, they were never stamped on there (not stolen and ground off). I was told it was a spoon block, but am unsure. If anyone knows off any other companies that take purchase new blocks from honda to do work on them, can you let me know. Next, the head has a date stamp of 91 on a PR3-1 head (B16 head), any ideas why? Then the tranny only has a tag on the left hand side of it the has the code S4c on it, it has a limited slip in it because i looked in the axle holes, but it doesn't have anything saying what tranny is in there, any help here would be appreciated. Next it has a 4-1 stainless steel header, can't figure out which brand but the collector is at the beginning of the oil pan and a straight pipe running back to the flange. The header also has staining on it from being wrapped w/ heat wrap. I believe this motor was a race motor because of the stains, the N1 crank pully, heat wrap still on part of the radiator hose, and still on the slave cylinder. I would like some help in identifying it and shoudl i get it? Thanks.
