Default loose shift linkage

just swapped in a d15b, and the shift linkage is "loose"

my friend told me all i need to do is go tighten it up, but wen i was down there i had no idea wat i was looking for. while i was there, i noticed the stabilizer bar wasnt tight either, so next time im going at it ill replace all three bushings.

but back to the question, exactly wat am i looking for to tighten the shift linkage?

Uh, make sure both bars are securely bolted to the tranny and shifter area? If its still loose get some ES Polyurethane shifter bushings.

right, wen i was down there i could twist it myself. seems like all bolts were down pretty good, theres just one bolt right by the rubber boot on the tranny side right? and in the shifter side theres just 2bolts right? so unless theres more i was thinking the bushings need a changing.

There's two bars, one is the shifter bar and the other is a stabilizer bar.

One side of the stabilizer bar is bolted to the tranny and the other side sits in a bushing near the shifter area, make sure those bolts are tight.

The shifter bar is connected to the tranny with a spring pin, make sure that's in all the way, and the other side is bolted to the shifter. If you can jiggle the shifter inside of the bar, then you need to tighten it. Be careful though, if its too tight it will be impossible to shift.

who put the swap in? Some people replace the "bitch pin" with a nut a bolt. Which can cause a sloppy feeling shifter. I am talking about the spring pin that BauleyCivic mentioned. The one at the tranny on the shifter bar not the stabilizer.
