most likely yes, walls WILL be too thin, not safe, im not too sure on what 1.6L motor ur reffering too since u didnt mention it. but i also could be wrong and u might not be able to at all.

as far as internals that should be it, i could be wrong.
but most likely ur gonna have to increase ur fuel pressure to even out a/f ratio
i could be wrong, i tried to help but ur best bet is to search
Thats my .02

w/ a d16y8 u have 127hp, thats the most out of any d-series, along w/ a better head gasket, steel shift fork, fat Intake mani, and other goodies...just boost it like it is. w/ some good tuning and management u should hit 180-200hp easy (not to mention inexpensively) and blow n/a b-series out of the water
thats what id do, its up to u tho
search, it's ur best friend on this form site

Re: Can you bore a 1.6 to a 1.8? (HatchEh2)
I have the d16y8 block and plan on building it up, low compression pistons ( cause Im going to supercharge it) stonger rods , maybe sleeve it all so. and repace all the bearings. To make it almost a new motor, but a stronger one. I also have a supercharger. I have a head that was port and polished and milled a little from a 99 ex. What do you think? This all what im planning on doing over time. But im still trying to get some input on it.
