Can You Boost With Spoon Motors
Im NOt Sure Me And My Friend Was Talking About His Spoon Last Night And He ASked If Its Good To Boost Or If Its Not Ok To Boost On A Spoon Motor ANd I Wasnt Sure So Yeh Let Me Noe If U Can Boost With A Spoon Motor And If So Whats The Best Poundage To Boost On ANd If Its Safe For The Motor

If your friend is anything like you, he should probably stay away from boost, use the money for tutoring or attend a nice school and recieve a propper education before he blows his motor.

damn newb...
but i don't think you could boost any engine specifically designed by a huge performance company like spoon... i'm pretty sure that they slang kits that will lower the compression to handle a certain number of boost...
so go ahead and tell your imaginary friend that owns an imaginary Spoon!! JDM!! YO!! engine not to boost any amount of "Poundage"....

hey dont laugh just cause he came in in 05 that doesnt mean we are all stupid I just thought it was common sense you should probley just sell that spoon motor and go take some classes on engines and learn some stuff before you come back here and make yourself look stupid again

Who the hell spends that kind of money on a spoon engine (if its legit) and doesnt know what they hell they are talking about with engines. And why the **** do you capitalize every word, do you go to school?

spoon engines are designed for endurance racing but that does not mean that they are ideal for daily driving, and i would definetly not spend $6000 for an engine + another couple of thousand dollars for turbo kit and forged internals to end up with a disaster.

agreed. i could not afford a spoon motor let alone afford to boost it, then bust it, have to rebuild it when it blows up on me . .
to answer his question though, no. . . it is a very bad idea to boost them, i had a friend who had a spoon, boosted with a greddy kit, and it last only another 10k miles before it gave up.
tell your friend he is lucky to get 60k before he has to start ripping it apart and recalibrating things, these gentlemen are correct, N/A is the best way to run these motors, and tread softly on this board, they hate type-os

Spoon crate motors are built more for NA power.
On a side note, sticking a spoon sticker on your intake does not make your engine a spoon motor.
Poundage.... that's one I haven't heard before.
