Actually it was, every thread has a time when it's in it's prime.
Look the word up, try to deny it again, and then look like an even more ignorant.
I didn't resurrect it, someone else did, I just seen it on the 1st page and started reading, so calm down and get lost trying to tell me **** you obviously don't know about.

If you have a DOHC VTEC and want to go Vtec all time, go with the TODA's Vtec Killer cams w/ tune. i wouldn't recommed for the streets though.

wait so your buddy has a vtec disengaging switch?
does it improve on his mpg? is this really healthy for the motor?
do the lobes and cams still open up but the amount of air/fuel ratio is lowered?
do the maps in the ecu still activate everything?
wtf someone clue me in with what this guys friend is doing.
cause im confused as hall

looks like you do not comprehend the intense R&D that Honda has put into VTEC...please do some R&D yourself before you mess w/ something like that...trust me, if honda thought it was a good idea, you wouldn't have to be contemplating the very idea right now...

And how did you figure out where to set the engagement point? If you say anything other than "studying dyno plots," then you're wrong.</TD></TR></TABLE>
The most logical way to set engagement point, if all you're concerned with is WOT dyno runs/track -
Set your VTEC to hit at the lowest point and make a full gear dyno pass. Next, set your VTEC to hit as late as you possibly can and make a full gear pass.
Take the two graphs and overlay them. Where the torque curves intersect will be the optimal point to have VTEC engaged. This will give you the most low end, AND the most high end. I'd be wouldn't be surprised if it's right near the OEM setpoint.

DON"T do that....for reasons already stated. If you want something like that....get the VTEC Killla cams. I think Toda makes them.

Re: can vtec stay on all the time if i hook it to a flip switch
U can run VTEC switch or what ever manual bottom u want to just one thing basicly a computer sends the signal at a exact time which a human can't but if u accurate in pressing button at perfect time u good if not u gonna mess up ur engines life understand now its like computer vs human who wins lol computer .......don't get me wrong but I ran switch and its worked for me fine now I'm working on putting a sensor which will activate VTEC only at certain rpm which it has to be higher than 4,500 rpms which its when I start loosing power ,,,,,,,,,look do ur research as how does VTEC work what makes it activate pretty much ask the right questions u get the right answers ok

^hey Jose, you're responding to a 11 year old post. The OP never even came back into the thread. It's best to check the date of the posts within a thread before posting.
