I have a 92 DX hatchback that soon will have a D16Z6 engine from a 93 SI that I have. Since I will be using the engine harness that came with the D16Z6, will this harness plug to the harness on the 92 DX? and will the Vtec work or I still have to run some wires from the engine bay to the computer in order to have the vtec working. by the way I will be using the P28 computer from the SI as well.

using the si harness motor and ecu, you have a plug and play swap. your 92 is infact prewired for vtec from the strut tower harness to the ecu.

The SI and VX both came wired for vtec from the factory. I believe those are the only hatch models for the 92-95 civic generation that came that way.

every trim in 1992.

After that I think they decided it would save money to not bother to wire for vtec unless it needed it.
