i don't think they can
95 SI shift forks
....and then 96 EX shift forks
see how much different they are..
then again the part numbers can be interchangeable from 88-02 (according to these guys )

Re: can shift forks from 92-95 be swapped with 96-98 (One Term President)
Well I know the 96-98 are better. So when I did my transmission swap with a 94 cx tranny I swapped the forks as well. Now the tranny will not go into any of the gears. So could the newer fork in a 92-95 be the problem??? Or is the tranny I purchased just screwed?

I asked the same thing before, and was ultimately told it will not work.
If I remember correctly, someone who is pretty knowledgeable and experienced with d16's confirmed it, may have been mista bone, not sure.
EDIT- here is the original thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=492745

haha the longer answer is, no and no no. But really, its because the shift forks are welded to those rods that hold them in place. Well you will notice that the 92-95 have two rods, where the 96+ have three. It just wont work.
Just swap in a 96+ EX tranny into your 92-95...it bolts right in.

is it really that big of a deal anyways? just don't force it into gear, don't revmatch to first every day, and grab fourth before reverse and you'll be fine.

Im not even tough on my tranny. I figure since im swapping this one out why not make sure this next tranny has the better parts to get me through the next two years of college. Thanks for the answers guys and have a good xmas.
