what have you tried? All I do is loosen the bolt with an allen wrench.

If that little setscrew is frozen in the collar, try spraying some lubricant of some sort on there and let it sit. I have never had trouble getting mine loosened. Just get the right sized allen key.

Bumpie.......................

I am loosing patience with them appriciate the input on my few points:

1. The allen bolt is almost stripped, so what... cut and drill??

2. I managed to get the gold part of without unscrewing the allen, but i can not take of the sleeve, there is Ground Control ruber padding behind it that is holding the coil pretty good and preventing it from moving.

Pic of the rubber:

3. I got another coil off without taking it apart, but now if I want to re-use the GC rubber padding I can not put the coil on the shock. Do i need the rubber padding?

what exactly are you asking?
you want to use the rubber padding, but you can't put the coil on the shock?

but do you need the rubber padding?

what exactly are you trying to do?
and is that a stock strut, if so, SWEET
if you put a GC spring ona stock strut without the perch i'm pretty sure when you lower your car it'll be sitting on the tires.

i stripped one of my perches a few years ago and i used a hose clamp to hold it together, just wrapped it around the gold ring and tightened it.

you dont have to tighten the perches much to keep them from moving.

the first coil I got of without taking the perch ( the allen bolt is stripped ) , and I can not put it on the new strut with re-using the rubber.

On the second Coil I got the perch off but now I can not take the remaing coil of the strut. The rubber glued it to the strut.

Do i need the rubber seals?

if you dont have them, the sleeve will move around. If anything go out and get rubber o rings that will fit on the shock and inside the sleeve. That way it wont shift around.

This is what came with the slip on coilovers I bought. (junk)
