Can My DX radiator be too small for a B18C??
I just did a JDM B18C SIR swap in to my 1994 civic dx. I was running it kinda beating on it for 1-2 hours straight. Everything was okay. Then, I pull up to the BK drive-thru. I suddenly smell antifreeze and the temp gauge is starting to rise. I pull out to a parking spot immediately. There is no leaks or air spraying anywhere. . When I start driving on the highway again, it stops and runs normal... Help!!!!! What could it have been. The antifreeze smell, then rising temps...
P.S. I've already replaced the thermostat with a new factory one, because it was acting up and now its fine.
Also, I replaced the factory radiator with one from autozone because it was leaking.

your stock radiator should be fine, the fact that you were beating the **** out of it for 2 hours straight is what caused it to heat up. As soon as you stopped moving air wasnt moving across the radiator anymore and the fan can only do so much at that point.

i run stock 1.5 dx radiator on my b16 as well and works fine, make sure ur fan is working(huge one...i had problem before where fan wasnt working and didnt realize that caused my temp to rise, i would hop on the highway as well and temp would lower cuz of amount of air coming to it, but when on street again, temp would rise, go down, rise,.....--my problem was a fuse was burnt out, thats why fan didnt work)....do u constantly have to put water/antifreeze in ur radiator?
