Can the int manifold & throttle body be swapped?
I got a co-worker working on a 97 civic coupe for a friend and they ran the motor with no oil, so they got a deal for real cheap on a spare motor. The only thing is the manifold & throttle body assembly on the current motor goes out to the side and the spare motor has the manifold & throttle body assembly come upwards. Can the manifolds be swapped to work? Unfortunately I don't have the exact engine codes at the moment but I will try to find out soon, any and all help will be very appreciated thanks.

sounds like the one with the throttle body facing upwards is a Y7 (dx motor) yes you can swap the intake manifolds over. if this car is an EX u should swap the entire head over on that block. the ecu is going to be looking for vtec and a knock sensor and that y7 motor has neither the sensor or the solenoid. you might be coming into some problems depending on what he wants to do. if you dont want to swap heads u should run a P2E (DX/LX) ecu and use the throttle body off the spare motor and rewire the ecu to read a 3 wire IACV instead of 2 wire. if its automatic it already has this 3 wire iacv and all u would need is a P2E ecu.
