yes you can, just no vtec, as said by hatch.

if you by a vtec motor, you'll have vtec. but your going to need to correct ecu.

No vtec and not using correct ecu means you wont have any power at all!!
get the correct ecu and start enjoying the power of honda vtec

Yes he can, for example if he is doing a mini me he can keep his stock ecu, and use a rpm activated switch. Like I did for 2 years on my mini me before I got the B16. But you can't use a stock D-series ecu on a B16 and expect to turn vtec on with a rpm activated switch.

its not a b16 its sohc d16 and i got it for free to replace the blown sohc d16 non vtec, and i want to swap motors and not have to go get vtec ecu and wiring harness's etc...BECAUSE IM BROKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

well...if you need an ECU for a vtec D16y8 hit me up.... i have one laying in my room. Ill let it go for 65$.....shipped to your front door.
