Default Can I replace a P06 ECM with any P06 ECM?

I have a bone stock D15B7, manual transmission, with ECM 37820-P06-A01 APX. Can I replace this ECM with a 37820-P06-A52 AUK? Can I replace this ECM with any P06 ECM? Do you recommend any particular retailer who is selling these ECM's?

I believe the A5x is automatic. You can use it in your manual, you just have to convert it to a manual by removing two resistors and replacing one of them with a jumper wire.

A quick google search should yield good results on converting OBD1 auto ecu to manual.

Not exactly even though I could see how it can be taken that way.

It's more in line with encouraging people to do their own research. Quite often the google searches point to the technical details from H-T without ever having to add "site:honda-tech.com" to the search terms of google. Maybe because there is a plethora of technical data here at H-T?

Let me chip in here (No pun intended. Honestly.) re: search. Forgive me, after being without my car for over a month I panicked and did not do as much search/research as I might have otherwise. I did execute a few searches here and on the web and got overwhelmed. I had no idea there is so much involved with ECM's, so I decided to post here a new topic. Yes, I was lazy. Sorry.

Further re: search, it's tough to design a site to optimize search for users. Have a little mercy on the systems people.

Also re: google search. I use google search to find "black and white" answers such as finding products to buy and perhaps white papers on basic facts. I come here to find expertise, such as which retailers to use and what swaths of those white papers I can ignore or more importantly list the sections I need to focus on and gotchas.

I plugged this into google:

convert obd1 ecu auto to manual

The very first result I got is for honda-tech DIY as can be seen in the image below:

Size: 53.6 KB

That link is:

https://honda-tech.com/tech-misc-15/...anual-2969571/

I think the DIY might also be in the FAQ sticky but that is a bit more involved to find the right section. It should be in there as the OBD1 is the 92-95 era of cars. Not sure if the 4th gen is obd1 or obd0....

Anyways, the DIY is linked above.
