HELP! Can I Pass at the CA State Ref?
Hey, I would deeply appreciate it if you guys could help.
I have a 97 Civic EX with a 99 USDM GSR block and a 99 Si head with the P72 ECU that goes with the GSR. Currently, my Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor is not plugged in, but I can fix that (even though my CEL is not throwing a code for that.) I <U>DO</U> have a code 67 for the cat converter, but I am planning on buying a new one anyway. For you guys, did the State Ref look for a CARB number on the Cat? I'm planning to get a 94000 series carsound cat that's OBII compliant but not CARB legal. I can get a 43000 series carsound cat that is CARB legal but it'll cost me around $190 shipped. Also the only bolt-on that I can't immediately turn back to stock is an AEM cold air intake with a K&N filter. I can take out the DC header and putt he stock one back in. Oh yeah, my SRS light is on, but I'm currently finding a way to deal with that. Anways, any advice or recommendations would help. Thanks.

Re: HELP! Can I Pass at the CA State Ref? (SiOverGsR)
You might not pass with that head on the engine, depending on the inspector he might check the casting number and find that the head is not for that block and fail you right there.
As far as the cat is concerned they dont go under the car to verify , they just check to see if you have on installed.
Now fix all the DTC's then run the car for a few miles then double check for DTC's to make sure your car is running ok.
