I wish my Si hatch didn't have the moldings...IMO hatches look cleaner without them...and yeah, they don't do **** for door dings!

The only thing moldings are good for, door moldings anyway, is keeping you from dinging your door when you open it and fling it into something.
I had a trail of door dings right above the molding when I bought it, and the 50 year olds I bought it from sure didn't have it lowered before I came along.

My cx HAD moldings. The previous owner put them on with 3m tape but i took them off.
BTW That is a pic of the car before i bought it. It is fixed now but still needs to be painted because the rear bumper and hatch are red.

I love the non-molding look personally.... I usually take the Yota beater anywhere I will be parking like malls etc. so its all good...

yeah side moldings are basically no point around my area...most cars automobiles are SUVS neways...so when they swing their door open, it hits above the side molding...

My side molding do nothing to stop door dings, if people are going to be careless enough to hit your door with theirs its going to happen with or without door dings. The only thing to stop door dings is for the people that make them to stop.

I think they help and I kinda like the look. Doesn;t look as cheap as a car without them. When you go to my school and parking spots are 1/2 the sieze of normal ones, you see them come in handy. Even if nobody SWINGS their door open, they do open it and let it rest on your molding, at least they do in my case. And I know I do it too. Would you rather have their door resting on your molding or the body line where your molding should go
Edit- why do you think they didn';t put them on the CX, cause it's a cheap POS car in stock form.

Well in response to that my 92 DX had side moldings and it did ****. Nothing. AND when I washed the car I had to be careful not to get soap on 'em cause it would discolor them... AND on the front of the door they started to come off where they clip and it looked shitty, AND like previously stated by others with molding when you park next to an SUV or big *** truck it does nothing. So I disagree as far as the CX just being a "POS" because if that were the case I would have just gotten another DX instead of holding out for a CX... So LOL
