Can i just take out the bolts or do i have to replace the whole thing *PIC* Help me out
I just swaped out my tranny in my eg, my old one ate a bolt and was grinding, I'm all done and the last cassle nut and bolt #17 or 4 whatever the bolt there are stripped, is there anyway that i can just take it out? or do i have to buy the thing complete at the junkyard, whats my best bet, #17or 4 is striped it hell from the person who i bought the car from no way in the world i can get the nut on there. I was thinking of going to the junkyard tommarow moring and getting the part, but do i need the whole thing? or can i just replace where #17 or 4 is?
Also how can i go about getting #17 or 4 out to replace it just unbolt it and hammer it out? will that work?

Thats your lower ball joint correct?
If thats the case I would just buy a new one from a parts store. Why mess with a used one but it would be easier IMO.

Re: (Eddiebx)
to do it correctly you need to remove the entire knuckle, hammer the balljoint out, and press a new one in. Ball joints are ~30 from autozone or somewhere similiar.
I just did both of my sides on my DX, took me about 2 hours overall with all hand tools, and no ball joint press.
