There is a way you can stick a piece of metal in the jumper for the ecu and it will flash the cel code through your check engine light. Just search and you will find it.

maintenace required is just a light that goes on every set amount of time/miles to remind you to do oil change. you reset the light through a button on the bottom somewhere. check engine light is the real/serious light

Yea, i was just wondering cuz the car im gonna buy , the guy says the cel is on from a evap line. if i just find the leak and replace the tube, will it fix the problem and the car also boggs which i think is caused by the evap or some other vaccum line that is causinf the cel

What trouble code does it have stored? An evap problem isn't likely to cause a running problem.

He is right it could be the evap line. However you need to find out what code it is before you buy it unless you trust this guy.

I found out that the vaccum line coming from the brake booster to the intake manifold was leaking and i fixed that. i think that was causing the CEL.
