can a cable tranny be used in an eg?
I was just wondering if a cable tranny could be used in an eg. I know you can use the hydro trannys in an ef and what not but can it go the other way around? TIA

wow</TD></TR></TABLE> 577 posts 160 days as a member and your little comment helps me how? Yeah thanks! Just because I have a lot of post doesn't mean I know EVERYTHING.. I know they make a conversion to use a hydro tranny in cable tranny car but didn't know if they made a conversion for a cable tranny into a hydro tranny car. That's why I asked! So thanks for NOTHING...
Peace
And thanks to the others who actually give useful info

you can, it is a pain in the *** to bleed, and it has an astronomical ammount of pedal pressure because of where it locates the pivot. but you can do it and there are kits available.

I'm trying to understand how this conversion would work... Do you know a lot about it... And is it hasport that makes the conversion or are there other companies that make it as well? Thanks again

it relocates the slave vertically, with its own brackets, the bad thing, is the bleeder is on the bottom making it hard to bleed. i think hasport has the kit. although i dont see it on their site. they do sell them with their mount kits.

my buddy had this kit on his b16 with a j1 cable tranny, and it didnt feel any different. maybe it is possible, the one u are speaking of may not have been on the desired pivot point or somthing, but i didnt see any differences from my hydro ls tranny in a eg and his cable j1 tranny in his eg. but then again maybe his was placed in the wrong spot and it worked out for the better. who knows. but i know it was made by hasport and it works
