do you have corrosion on your battery? You have a weak connection somewhere.

corrosion can cause bad connections, clean them, make sure your connections are all good and give that a try

it could be either, but you said you have to tap the power wire to get everything to come back on, so I would start there. Corrosion does not conduct electricity. Get a can of regular coke and slowly pour it over your + terminal. Coke eats away at the corrosion you have.

yep, you need a complete circuit to have power. that means a good connection to power and a good ground. Clean them both.

coke would work, but if u want to do it right get some baking soda and water mixed together.

but do this after you go to walmart and buy new battery terminals for like $5. cut the old ones off and bolt the new ones on, if you can't figure out how, then you don't belong driving, no offense.

then use the baking soda mix on your terminals and clean them nice, use a wire brush if u need to. hook everything back up, done.
