can anyone tell me the differences between foglights
what are the differences between the actual 99-00 jdm foglights:
http://www.passwordjdm.com/pro...D=253
and the knock offs:
http://www.passwordjdm.com/pro...D=253
because i cant SEE a difference (other than the price tag)...so maybe theres some technical difference...or maybe one looks different when you actually install them as opposed to just looking off the pictures.
thanks in advance

Re: can anyone tell me the differences between foglights (alacard)
The only real difference would be the fitment. O.E. fogs will fit better thant knock-offs, however, companies are making better knock-offs all the time. So it's pretty much up to you. If you want to spend the extra money, go for the "actual" fogs, if not, go for the knock-offs.

i jsut dont really want them to look shitty...i mean they are from a quality site (passwordjdm) so i doubt they would be bad quality...but i'm just worried about looks and light output quality

The knock-offs use different wiring than the OEM. I forget exactly how it goes but part of it (that red wire you see in the pic) has to go to the battery. (coughI'mnotanelectrician)
The OEM wiring just connects right up to a brown connector thats inbetween the washer bottle and the cruise control.
The colors are probably a bit off as well

Re: can anyone tell me the differences between foglights (alacard)
The only difference is that the OEM ones are made Stanley and the Generic ones are made by DEPO is almost the same stuff ... DEPO is a well known company and you can also pick this same foglights (but not Yellow) on ebay for like 50 buy it now plus 20 on shipping, and if you want them yellow the just go to u local rice tunershop and get the yellow fog spray for 20 bucks.. BUT if you have 449.99 + SH.. buy 'em

although passwordjdm are making replicas, their quality is good. i have one of their foglights for my 93 civic. no problem with fitment. can't even tell whether it's oem or aftermarket. IMO go with the password's.

MY SUGGESTION:
go to http://www.handa-accessories.com/ and get REAL stanley usdm 99-00 foglights for $135... Mine are great You dont have to wire the power seperate, theyre plug n play! Just get some of that yellow spray **** to make em 'jdm'.
But def get the real deal.. n 135 is alot better than 300+ for stanley
EDIT: Theyre only $123 now! good ****

I've purchased a few $100 worth of stuff from them and I've never had a problem. They're an actual dealership that just has a huge accessory warehouse (see: http://handaaccessories.com/about.html)
Buying the USDM OEM is what I did.. they are the same exact thing as the JDM, minus the yellow glass. Save yourself some money, get the USDM's, then buy some yellow lamin-x vinyl. Not only will it make them look the exact same, it provides a protective shield for that fog light glass. As low as those lights are, trust me, they will catch a LOT of rocks/debris. Even for people who just want the normal clear lamps, I still recommend getting the clear lamin-x to save yourself the trouble to replacing that glass.

Re: can anyone tell me the differences between foglights (zoops)
i bought the replicas not from password but from jhpusa. It's the same depo brand and the light output is fairly bright and noticeable. The only problem i have is one of my foglights is a slightly yellower tint that the other but you cant really tell (not saying all depo fogs come with two shades of yellow, mine just happened to be).

Re: can anyone tell me the differences between foglights (alacard)
honestly in my opinion
i dont think oem or jdm patrol will be on your case unless your trying to sell these foglights to someone else
get the replica, looks the damn same except the real one says raybrig on it
