Can anyone explain the tire size?
ok i got some Hx wheels and i want to get new tires 185 65-14 is what the tire rack shows. I want something just a little bit wider than stock. (YES I SEARCHED ON THIS) What size would better the next step wider? Would the wider igve better traction or would it be pointles? And what exactly are the #'s? i know 14 is rim size Thanks in advance.

195s...the first number is the tire width in mms. The second number is the aspect ratio (sidewall) and it's a percentage of the first numer. So on the first tire, they're 185mm wide, 65% tall of that and fit on a 14 inch rim. Go for the 195/55/14 (dont know of a tire in this size) or the 195/60/14s which the Azenis come in. I used to run the Azenis on the HX rims and love them. Grip is great!

Falken Azenis. Possibly not showing up because your spelling is off. I got mine from another HT user with the rims, so I can't help you out.

Re: Can anyone explain the tire size? (KiDSoL)
I just bought some 195/60/14 Falken Ziex ZE-512. Rated #1 by consumer reports as a good all season performance tire. They're awesome in my opinion with treadwear at 420 as opposed to 200 for Falken Azenis or 280 for Yokohama AVS ES100 (which I own on another set of wheels) Meaning, the higher the treadwear the longer they last. They are unidirectional tires with no noise at all and feel pretty light when mounted on steelies. 195/60/14 is a good size to get since it is slightly wider than OEM 185/60/14. And no they will not rub, depending on how low your car is.
I got mine for $180 shipped off ebay, here's a link to the exact same seller I bought my tires from. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...79449 Good seller, I can vouch for him
I haven't found anything to dislike about these tires and I recommend them to anyone who want a good cheap performance tire to ride around in.

I can vouch for the Falken Azenis. I run them and they have to be one of the best tires for the money.

The ES100s are very nice as well, but more pricey than the Azenis. I did'nt like the Ziex 512s when I drove on them. No grip at all.

I love my ES100s. Excellent street tire. I got my 195/55/r15 for $56/tire. I wouldn't want azenis on a street car because I've heard quite a few bad things about their wet performance. Yeah, I've heard the line "just don't drive like an idiot and you will be fine." Bottom line is that you never know what can happen and when you will have to do some evasive maneuvering to avoid a bad situation. I don't want to be in that situation with tires that are known for bad or sub-par wet performance.

Here's a link for some Falken Ziex at 44 dollars each. The awesome thing is that it is a 205/60/14, 205's for a 14 inch rim is nice. I wish I knew about these before I ordered the 195's. Also, the 195's are at an amzing 35 dollars each.

Yeah, I wont have another set of the Azenis...not enough treadlife on a car that I daily drive. Also, they sound like truck tires!! uber loud! The wet performance isnt all that bad, but in the snow..forget it!
