Can Anyone Confrim This? 2000 Automatic
With the car turned off, can you move the button in your shift ****?
I took my shift **** off, and since putting it back on, the button does not move at all when the car is off and in park.

I think we agree - at the top of the shift lever there's a button which you squeeze to shift. I'm just curious if anyone can depress it when the car is turned off.
Mine is frozen like a brick and I don't think that's normal. I've been having something strange going on with my lever ****, so that's why I'm asking.
I used this link for a work around tonight. Sweet!

Most likely I was misremembering. I do that sometimes.
Ok then, the button in the shift **** properly cannot be compressed when the car is turned off. I guess that's good news, I have less of a problem then I thought, but really since removing the rod so the key can come out I'd pretty much solved the issue anyway.
