Well.... the Helms manual has a red/blk wire going into terminal four of the 8P heater control panel connector and labels it "Combination Light Switch" - so this makes sense. since it looks like it's supposed to control your dash lights. (which you say you don't have.)

If I'm right, the other end of that wire should be at fuse 30 in the underdash box. Is it blown?

Problem is that according to the wiring diagram, that same circuit went to ALL of the dash lights - list is:

Hazard Warning Switch Light
Gauge Lights
Audio Unit
Rear Window defogger switch light
Cruise indicator
A/T Gear position indicator
Dash Light Brightness controller.
Optional Connector (Dash Lights) (Whatever that means...)
A/T gear position console light
Heater control panel light.

My guess because of what you're saying is that it's either the heater panel light like I was talking about, or maybe the radio light dimmer input from the previous (or maybe stock before previous) install.

thanks a lot man. I checked every fuse underdash box they are all good. Also, I noticed that my air **** for the a/c is not working when in MIN position, it only works when MAX.

Maybe you have a problem with the connectors on the back of the climate control panel?
