Can any police/sheriff sign off a fix it ticket?
Question.
Can any police/sheriff sign off a fix it ticket, regardless of what county you recieved it in? For example, if I got a ticket in LA county, can a Tulare county sheriff sign it off?
I've tried searching on gov. websites and what not but can't find anything on the matter.

This is really a thread that belongs in General Discuss and Debate forum, not there. Thanks.

if you got the ticket from Highway Patrol, only their agency can write it off. Sheriff's can do it but most of the time they don't like to bother unless you know someone. Long Beach area just really sucks, not the people but the police agency. All they want is the power to do what they want. you had to go to a state ref??? did you get a ticket for no cat. or illegal parts that are not carb approved.

Re: (banzai msg)
i got my hood popped recently too and the cop sent me to the ref even though all my parts are carb legal. He said that even though my header has a carb sticker he still thinks it's illegal and he sent me to the ref, i haven't gone to the ref yet. He also gave me some stupid little fix it tickets.

I know someone who had fix it tickets in Temecula and I had them signed off by a San Diego Police Officer, I was told by a law enforcement officer that any California State Officer can sign it.

I went to the Long Beach police department and they said they cant sign it off. They gave me a sheet of places to go. CHP and Sherriff stations. I called them and they said they can't sign of exhausts, and that it had to be done by a state ref.

But im thinking now, I can just save the headache and pay the fine? is that possible.
So when I go to court I just plead guilty, and then pay the 250? and thats the end of it?
