Can anone tell me the difference between a 2000 DX and 96 DX motor?
Did a search and I couldn't find anything? Anyone? I want to slap a 2000 dx motor in my 96 DX. I was wondering if it will be a straight bolt on. Especially the ecu?

You need to keep all the electrical components with the harness I.E. Dizzy, and injectors from the 96 with the 96 wiring. So just pull your old stuff and put it on the 2000 Block. The engine won't care.
That is why a 96-98 EX wiring harness is gold to a hybrider.
