can a 96-00 civic ex tranny work on d16z6

i know it can bolt up i was just wondering if you needed anything else for the swap like axels??

I have a 96-00 ex tranny on my d16z6 and the only problem i have had is when i replaced the clutch, forgot to tell the mechanic the tranny was a 99 . I dont know why that would matter
