i was wondering what effect it wouuld make by changing camshafts?

cams on what? what car? motor? what kind of cams jun skunk2 crower crane custom? you need to include this shit in your post it is vital for us to answer ur question. and if you don't have a car to do this give us a mock up of what you want and we can go from there. Also search for dynos and write ups on diff cams people have used.

changes the way you're valves behave in relation to each other (lift, duration, etc.) go to howstuffworks.com and see what they have to say...theres a great article on how camshafts work and a lot of stuff specifically relating to vtec

what would changing camshafts on a b16a2 resting in a eg civic do?

could add power, could change you idle. may not do either, too many variables. what cams? are you going to use adjustable cam gears? is it N/A or FI? do you plan on tuning it on a dyno?
