Icon3 camshaft and sprocket problem please help!

hi all. today i changed my camshaft to a crower stage 1. all was ok car started up ran fine for a while but wen i put the foot down i heard a knock and the car stopped and wouldent start. on closer inspection it turns out that the stud on the gear(sprocket) that slots into the grove in the camshaft broke off so the gear was spining but not the camshaft. so of corse i gota get a new sprocket but how can i match up timing again since its now f**ked up! any help would be great!

once u get the new cam gear on put it at TDC and the crank pulley at TDC of #1 piston. u should be fine then. did u lash your valves for the new cam?

i would check to make sure you still have any valves left. what you are saying is pretty much the same thing as snapping a timing belt.

yea i understand, but if the sprocket was rotating and the camshaft wasn't that usually means that a piston will come up and smack the valve usually bending the valve and shutting the engine off and will most likely not start again

its just a thought
