cams vs. header
I did a search and didn't find anything. Burning some oil and I'm thinking it's the valve stem seals. Was thinking about replacing the cams while I'm in there but I'm running stock exhaust manifold. This is also a JG head. What should I do? They're similar in cost. If cams, what ones would you suggest and how much do they cost? Thanks.

Question 2 : How old is this head?
Question 3 : How much money do you have? You can't go wrong w/ ctr cams. If you have a bottomless pit of money then you got skunk stage 1 (maybe 2), toda a and b, jun 2 and 3. Otherwise...save a buck and throw in some B16A auto cams and decrease your peformance. You don't need a fast car. lol
I have ctr cams on my Si. It pulls pretty good from 6k+. I had a ctr header too which helped A LOT. I took it off 2 weeks ago and I'm missing it already. I lost a lot of midrange and a little top end. This is my experience so..I'll leave it up to you to decide.

Re: cams vs. header (vpc)
Well that didn't help. :D
Answer 1: Not very, this is my daily driver and they're just a lot of freeway miles
Answer 2: About 25,000 miles
Answer 3: How much are the good cams selling for? I was looking around 500 but will go more if there is a big difference in power between ctr and the toda's or juns. Is there any good word on the crower cams?
So basically, the header gave you better gains then the cams did? Right now I just have stock p72's.

Re: cams vs. header (SpeedRacerEX-R)
for 500 there arent a lot, ctr's go for anywhere from 350-500 depending on the condition and who is selling them, or you can get the ctr intake cam and a itr exhuast cam, the exhaust cam is exactly the same, skunks go for about 700 for any stage

cams but remember that if you plan on the skunk stage 2 or 3 which will give you more then ctr(tunning a must ) you also need valve springs and retainers , which all of that add up. but is always a good investment to make hp . some people prefer the jun 3 over the skunk but everything for jun is a little higher $$$ . also you are planning to stay n/a or are yo considering boosting later on ? cause some people do mild cams till they can afford to go boost. but if your planning to remove the head , then that would be the time to do the cams with valvetrain . header you can do any day ..

Re: cams vs. header (Spoon1)
Probably going to go n/a. Not too sure yet. I just want to hit 13's. I already have the springs and retainers. Just need the cams. How much more than ctr cams are we talking? A lot or just 5-10hp?
