Default Cam Gears and VAFC

Currently I am building up a b18c NA> I currnetly have type R cam shafts but OEM gears. What are a good set of gears I could run to give me max power. I was goign to do AEM but I heard bad because the adj. screws get loose to easy.

Also is there a point of me buying a VAFC if i am going to Get the Hondata programed on my ecu. Thank for all the help.

I used a Skunk2 cam gear when tuning my Y8. It had like six or seven screws, so slippage would be pretty hard to come by.

no need for a vafc if you are getting hondata anyways. I have personal experience with an str cam gear on my car and it has no slippage at all

All the adjustable sprockets perform the same basic function and will provide the same power results assuming they're tuned correctly (ignoring minute differences in weight which could theoretically affect gains by an insignificant and immeasurable amount). However, there are differences in the design of the sprockets, and if you're concerned about slippage, there is basically only one brand that cannot slip - ST Corsa. They're the only adjustable sprockets I'd use.

Regarding the VAFC, as Matt said, it's completely unnecessary if you'll be running Hondata.

Skunk2 gears are really nice pieces. The have a 6-bolt configuration, which gives quite a bit of piece of mind in terms of not slipping.
