CAM gear situation HELP!!

Default CAM gear situation HELP!!

Hey,
I want to know, ive heard some different things, do you gain just as much horsepower with a adjustable cam gear if you set it right with a stock cam, as if you had a aftermarket cam????

well in any situation you will gain more power as u advance ur timing but if u use ..lets say a b16a head with stock cams an u get skunk2 cam gears..u cant really tell how much power u will make jus by adjusting ur self then goin out an driving till u get it rite....the best way is to get the camgears an put them on take ur car to a dyno..pay the cost for the use of the dyno get them tuned RITE ive seen as mush as 5hp - 7hp gain with stock cams still in motor ..all depends on how ur timing is set an motor is tuned...but as for aftermarket cams lets say crower stage 2 an skunk 2 camgears no way aftermarket cams OWN stock cams any day !! more lift an more duration...means more power...yet again they will need to be tuned an set!

skunk2 cam shafts
pull nasty in the 6k an beyond range!!

if its sohc spend the money else where. waste of money. dohc is a different story.
