cam gear

Re: cam gear
No, it has a key built into the sprocket, as well as the splines to help it not wobble.
You *maybe* could turn it around and use it backwards, but then it would look backwards, you wouldn't be able to see the markings on it, and anyway, the camshaft is probably slightly tapered so it won't fit backwards.
Why do you ask?

Re: cam gear
I am trying to figure out why I cannot get my timing belt to line up and why I cannot get the ignition timing to set right. I always seem to be a half a tooth off, and when trying to set the ign. timing, Is like I cannot turn the distributer far enough ( I have jumped the two wires to set the timing). So, I was thinking maybe the gear got put on wrong.... It looks like just a stamped piece with little dimples in it to keep it from turning on the cam, but wasnt sure if they were spaced differently so it would only go on one way.
