cam gear

Default cam gear

ok guys, when my cam gear was installed my lower timing belt cover was not put back on due to the mechanic saying it got in the way. is it ok to not have that lower timing belt cover on

Nope not a good idea to keep it off. I've seen pics of a piece of gravel getting caught in the teeth of crank pulley gear and causing the belt to skip teeth.

I agree. Lower cover is very important. I don't run the upper on my autocross E-Prepared car, but street cars should not be missing these.
