Default CAI or SRI??

got a SOHC, what will perform better with it?? cold air or short ram??
What's louder?

And I'm not too worried about hydrolocking, its the summer in cali there won't be much deep puddles, and i know that the pipe has to be practically submerged to even hydrolock.

So just wanted to know what you guys think.

CAI= more power (so they say)
SRI= quicker throttle response

honestly with a stock sohc your not gonna feel any "performance" difference with the cold air or short ram...my advice is turbo it!

i honestly think the AEM V2 kicks ***. Especially when combined with a BPi velocity stack. I have a SRI for now with a velocity stack. Its pretty cool.

But yeah id turbo my car too.

V2 is cool and all but 300 bucks for a pipe and filter is ridiculous

personal opinion is cold air.

cold clean air is better for power. now if you are autoxing then the short ram is gonna be better because of the better throttle response. but if what you do is up high in the rpms and relatively high speed then CAI is the way to go.

ah ic.. so if i'm doing a lot of turning and such which drops my rpm, its best to stay with short ram so i can accelerate faster after the turn?(or better throttle body response

I'd say keep your stock air intake and drop in a k&n air filter and call it a day.

Well i had my ebay intake for a while, I just had it at a short ram, and had the pipe for cold air, and since it's summer i thought i'd put it on.
Honestly intakes i dont really care if its generic or not, because all it is IS a pipe, what much better will a better brand do?

I just bought a 05 rsx base model and wanna buy an intake, but i wanna get my moneys worth cause i wanna do **** right. my choices are either the V2 or the AEm CAI. i'v heard the V2 gives you power, but since its by the manifold you will experience heatsoak. and for the AEM CAI, i heard it sounds amazing and gives you decent power, but i heard that the tubing tends to crack and you have to replace it. I just don't wanna have any problems. what do you guys suggest?
