CA turbo?
I want to get a kit and I only really considered greddy because of the prices and street legality of it.......But U can piece a kit 2gether 4 way cheaper. My question is what do you guys do when its time get smogged? or even worse asked to open your hood?

The way it sounds from the east coast I don't think you can sneeze during an emmisions test in CA and still pass. I would think you have no hope with aftermarket F/I.

There's gotta be more options....I guess everyone does just pay the price. I guess Greddy it is although I heard it was just ok.

so on the east coast like say, in CT where i live, if i went for emissions testing, would they care whatsoever about a turbo with custom exhaust, loud bov, etc...??

as long as you have a few of the greddy pieces there and the carb OE# it doesnt matter what you really run. they only look for the carb exempt number on that part.

O yea there's a reason the edelbrock kit is better, it cost an arm and a leg as opposed 2 a few fingers with Greddy.....

Re: CA turbo? (ThaCivicAssassin)
wow... if i had money i'd go everything legit on my car... i'd just take the bolts off my intake manifold and the two bolts on my exhaust.. then make sure all my oil lines is temporarily sealed... then just pull the thing out as one piece... i'd leave somethings like the intercooler and some of the piping... slap on my stock intake and the headers and i'd be set! i'd probably run into some problems but you never know till you get your hands dirty!
