Your full of bad info arent you?

If a Cali State B.A.R. ref wants to fail you for not having the same year ecu as the motor, he can. If he wants to fail you for having a different ecu he could do that too. Plus, i would ask you if you had to swap your steering column ignition.....because if you didnt then most likey you dont have a 00 SI ecu because those have immobilizers.

The Ecu for a Vtec del sol is a P30, the ecu for a '00 Si is a P2T.

You may be lucky and he may not say anything but its completely up to the referee station you go to. Some don't even ask what ecu your running. Some pull up the carpet and check the serial #'s. Some plug up to the ecu and do a diagnostic.

Here's some more info on the ref stations

First of all, the P2T si ecu does not plug into a 97ek and if you use a conversion harness, it will not pass state ref because they are for off road use only. By the way, P2T's do not have immobilizers. I have a 99 si ecu and a 00 si ecu and they both work in my 99 ek coupe.

From the way it was explained to me, '99 and up civic's have immobilizers. I'm curious about the conversion harness though....I thought that all obd2 ecu's had the same plugs, regardless of if they were 2a or 2b. My reasoning for this is because the 98-99 gsr ecu's are the exact same model #. I used a '98 gsr ecu for my 97 ej8.

Then again it may be that they switched the obd's on the gsr later than they did for the SI. I'm positive that the '00 gsr had an immobilizer and maybe thats where im going wrong on this.

Either way, i agree with you about there being an issue with B.A.R.ing with this setup. That's why i said something despite my lack of knowledge on this specific case. This is the second time i saw CALIdelsolSIR giving completely bad info.

Yes the later integra's do have immobilizers, but not civic's. 96-98 civic harnesses are different than 99-00 but mostly on the computer side. As for integra harnesses, i know that both obd1 and obd2 can be used on the engine side but on the computer side, i'm not sure.
